Previously, a post at WRD was sharing the free vector icons created by Webalys.

Lately, there are 2 great additions to these free resources offered and it almost became a UI design framework.

The new resources are a GUI Library which includes 100s of items and a Styles Library which has 200 styles, both to be used in Illustrator.

The set is simply a must-bookmark for designing wireframes faster and creating better mockups.

Tileables is a website which creates and shares various sets of beautiful repeating patterns.

They are designed to be applied to the backgrounds in Photoshop via the pattern overlay layer style, with steps:

• open layer styles on chosen layer.
• choose pattern overlay.
• open submenu and Replace Patterns.
• choose our pattern file and pick a pattern.
• don’t forget to tinker with the settings!

Currently, there are 4 sets where each set includes ~20 items, new ones are added frequently and they can be used in both free or commercial projects.

Sometimes we work on a PSD file, duplicate it and work more on it when creating a new version.

And one day, we need a layer or effect that only exists in only one of these files, search for it which can become complicated (what we're looking can be invisible as well).

ComparePSD is a free Windows software that helps finding the differences between 2 PSD files in such situations to save you time.

The software enables you to select the files to be compared from Windows Explorer.

When it is started, the files are compared layer-by-layer including layers styles (effects), styles attributes, layers visibility flags and highlights the differences.
